Bellevue’s own typically cranks out $20M-$35M annually in mortgage loan volume.
[FORT THOMAS, Ky. — Thursday, March 23, 2023] A Northern Kentucky native, lifetime mortgage professional Lee Witte rewrote the real estate scene a few years ago with a come-one, come-all, carpet-bombing Facebook page called “The Fort Thomas Real Estate Forum,” now approaching 5,000 active members.

Tomorrow, this industry veteran of almost two decades celebrates a new professional chapter with the official launch of Hometown Mortgage, the culmination of a lifetime of work, contacts, connections, and “just helping people out, the way a neighbor would,” says Witte.
In Fort Thomas, commonly known as “The Hyde Park of Northern Kentucky,” Witte has made both his home and his professional reputation.
CREATOR OF ‘THE FORT THOMAS REAL ESTATE FORUM” ON FB (2019)
In 2019, Witte created “The Fort Thomas Real Estate Forum” on Facebook, an ongoing dialogue that accepts broker listings and FSBOs, specific to Fort Thomas, and, along the way, ingratiated himself in the hearts of hundreds of Fort Thomas home buyers and sellers.
“The Fort Thomas Real Estate Forum has truly been a game-changer, for me, in helping me transform my business and establish my brand in the local community,” said Witte, 51.
“We love serving this community, where the business of home sales seems to always be vibrant, particularly if you know the folks locally.” -Lee Witte
Securing a mortgage will likely be the largest financial transaction a consumer is involved in; to that end, Witte has established himself as a trusted advisor in his community.
Licensed in Ohio, Kentucky and Florida, Witte is a lifetime mortgage professional with almost two decades (19 years) in the business, working at local financial stalwarts such as Fifth Third Bank and U.S. Bank.
He most recently transitioned to the Broker side with Entrust Mortgage.
Witte is a graduate of Bellevue High School and Northern Kentucky University. He relocated to Fort Thomas in 2001, where he’s raised a family.
HOUSE SPECIALTY: SHOPPING MORTGAGES, TO MULTIPLE WHOLESALE LENDERS
“I decided to become a Broker four years ago, so I could offer my clients more options. As a Broker, I love having the ability to shop the client’s mortgage with multiple wholesale lenders,” Witte said.
The entrepreneurial bug began biting about nine months ago, putting the wheels into motion for Witte to open his own brokerage.
“This has been a burning desire of mine, to work for myself, doing what I truly love, working for the very people whom I have known for years,” Witte said.
For now, near the corner of Memorial Parkway and North Fort Thomas Avenue — a short screen pass from another Fort Thomas landmark, Highlands High School — it’s just Witte and a support staff, working out a former two-story Memorial Parkway law office that Witte recently purchased for $265,000. He’s leasing the bottom half, and working with the City of Fort Thomas on building improvements.
Hometown Mortgage will celebrate its grand opening at Fort Thomas Coffee from 5–7 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 24, with friends, family, industry contacts, some music and light bites. The public is invited.
In true Fort Thomas tradition, free Bengals tickets will be raffled off, as will select Bourbon bottles and Jeff Ruby gift certificates.
